NICO the Dog needs a home

AVAILABLE FOR A LOVING FAMILY!

Hi, I’m Nico. I’m a very good looking boy, about 1 yr. old, 6.5 lbs., and ready to meet my new family.  I came into the shelter as a stray, and had not been taken good care of; so I was so distrustful of people and fearful of the unfamiliar.  I have come a long way; but, honestly, I still find other dogs a lot less scary than unfamiliar people.  I lived in a foster home for a while with 3 other dogs and a cat friend who was just my size. I also had doggie visitors who came over to play with me. Life is a lot better now; I currently am living in a home with some very nice ladies who love me a lot. They worked with a trainer and helped me become less fearful; but they are going to another country soon and can’t bring me along. I really want to have a home of my own and a forever family to love! My Spot Advocate says that because of my fear issues, I would do best in a quiet home with adults and not too many visitors. She also wants me to have a home with someone who accepts that I’m a work in progress, and does not mind reenforcing  my training, setting limits, and helping me continue to make progress. Adoption fee: $225. Fee includes my neuter, current vaccinations and microchip .
